09 Jun Welcome to The Mouse Stops Here!
Like many others, my parents introduced me to Disney films and enabled my childhood obsession with toys and merchandise every birthday. As an adult, I carry that love with me everywhere I go. Thanks to social media, I discovered that there are so many others who felt a strong connection to Disney into their adulthood. I decided to share this with others by creating The Mouse Stops Here.
To this day, I get the same feeling I did as a child when I notice a Disney Store in the mall. My stomach gets knotted with excitement, and no matter what I was doing, I needed to stop inside and at least look around. Disney has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Most of the photos from my childhood show me wearing clothes that featured Disney characters, or carrying around Disney toys.
My family did not go on many vacations, but when we did, it was always to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA. Every year, my father would pick up travel guides for both Disneyland and Disney World so that we could imagine the best vacation, even if he knew we would not be able to go on one for a few years.
At every milestone in my life, Disney was a part of it. If I need to celebrate something, make sure there is Disney music. Every break-up and or failure was always patched up first and foremost by watching a Disney film. My husband and I even accompanied the recessional at our wedding with “Married Life” from “Up.”
What Will This Blog Be About?
The Mouse Stops Here is meant to be a guide in all things Disney that you can incorporate in your everyday life. In other words, looking at different Disney stores and checking out what they have to offer so you can bring some of the magic home. Expect to get some doses of nostalgia as we look through Disney history through films, theme parks, and merchandise.
Everywhere I go, I will be on the hunt for any little Disney thing I can find. From antique stores to modern boutiques, I will share and review all the things that I see. One goal of The Mouse Stops Here is to drive conversation around Disney shopping. As children, we loved shopping for Disney films, plushes, and toys. As we grow older, we still carry a fondness for those things even though we might not need to bring a stuffed animal to bed every night.
While the plan is to provide you with the information about the latest in Disney merch, The Mouse Stops Here will also be your guide to how to get the most bang for your buck with Disney purchases. We all know that living your best Disney life can get expensive quick. Look here for detailed guides on how to best navigate Disney Store sales and promotions as they arise.
As a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, I am lucky to have access to so much Disney! I am a seven-hour drive from the Disneyland Resort, dozens of Disney stores, and the Walt Disney Family Museum. Beyond that, I love to travel and plan on sharing anything interesting that I stumble across.
As a great man once said, “To all who come to this happy place, Welcome!”
